Northern Dalmatia - holiday apartments and houses

The region of Northern Dalmatia covers an area of approx. 6.600 sq km from the island of Pag in the north to the coastal city of Rogoznica in the south.

In northern Dalmatia is the highest mountain of Croatia to find: the Dinara with a height of 1.831 m. The Dinara lies on the border between Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina in the Dalmatian back, near the town of Knin. At the foot of the mountain and nearby lies on the Croatian side the village Kijevo. From this location is the impressive mountain in its total size to behold. The Dinara is not only one of the many peaks of range, but unaffiliated rises from the landscape Peaks. The population in the vicinity of Kijevo called the mountain top also Sinjal, in reference to the word signal and the measurement pier, which is located at the top. The entire mountain is only barren trees. There are no trees. Nevertheless, the dominance of the mountain in its brown and green splendor leaves nobody untouched in this area. Because it is only a gentle slope to cope the summit, the mountain is a popular hiking and sightseeing objective of the local population. Anyway there are no mountain huts.

Among the major metropolises in northern Dalmatia includes the port city of Zadar and Sibenik. Zadar has a major ferry port and is, on a promontory located upstream Old Town, more worth than just a short stay. Sibenik is located in the south in a sheltered bay and lures many visitors with the cathedral Sv.Jakov, which is protected by the World Heritage by UNESCO.

Nearly 40% of all Croatian islands are located in the region of North Dalmatia. It offers a total of 383 islands, small islands and rocks. Furthermore, the northern Dalmatia offers three National Parks. The fact that since 1980 as a National Park reported Kornati archipelago with more than 150 large and small islands is a paradise for sailors and nature lovers. The Krka waterfalls in the north of Sibenik extend over an area of 142 km² and a special nature. And finally lies between Zadar and the Karlobag the Paklenica National Park.
